This is part of the 30 Day iPhone App Workout Challenge. Join and read all the posts here.
Are you ready to save the world and get fit while doing so?? Six to Start, the company that made Zombies Run, also made today’s intense workout where you complete HIIT moves in order to save the world from perilous scenarios! I hope you’re ready to go because today’s workout is going to be intense!
App to Download: 7 Minute Superhero Workout ($2.99 in the app store)
Workout Length: 12 minutes
Type of Workout: High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)
What you need: A wall to sit on, somewhere to place your ipad/ipod/etc.
About the App
The app is unique because it uses your device’s front facing camera to track calories burned.
Once again, the real bonus of an app like this is that it makes fitness fun and interesting so you can forget how hard you’re pushing your body during an intense HIIT workout. Keeping your mind occupied is key to really digging into challenging workouts!
Do the introduction and the first mission! You’ll need the iphone’s front camera to see you, so pick a place where it can see you working out so it can count your reps. You may need to move it around. If you’re up for it, also do a yoga workout on the FitStar app from yesterday.
The reason we have so many HIIT and interval workouts based around strength moves is because they’re the ones that get results. Endless cardio will get you nowhere, but these focused strength workouts paired with yoga and interval-based cardio will help maximize your time and focus your efforts.
Not to mention these workouts are way more interesting — if you’re like me, I need intervals to keep me engaged, and fitness apps like these only add to the fun of working out.
My hope is that by introducing you to all these ways to save the world and run from zombies, you’ll find ways to get addicted to fitness through games and also have so many new tools to add to your arsenal so you can design your perfect routine once the month is over.
Have fun and let me know how it goes!
