Eating clean can be a challenge when you’re craving something sweet. But here are 3 of my favorite clean dessert choices that are healthy, too!
Dessert #1: Almond Chocolate-Oatmeal Cookies
Not only are these delicious cookies, but they’re filling and filled with protein and fiber thanks to the almonds and whole-wheat flour!
Makes about 5-6 cookies
Ingredients:
-1/4 cup whole wheat flour
-1/8 cup water
-1 tsp cinnamon
-1 tsp vanilla
-3 tbsp honey
-1/3 cup oatmeal (cooked)
-2/3 cup almonds
-1/2 cup grain-sweetened chocolate chips
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
2. Mix all the ingredients into a food processor except for the chocolate chips to create the dough
3. Transfer the mixture into a separate mixing bowl, add chocolate chips
4. Spoon onto a cookie sheet and cook for 15 minutes
Dessert #2: Frozen Cherries
I love thawing frozen cherries and putting them in whole wheat crepes or parfaits, but they also make a nice sweet after-dinner dessert!
Dessert #3: Microwave Brownie
You can just throw these ingredients into a mug, mix ’em up, and cook in the microwave for two minutes and voila! You’ve got a healthy, clean-eating brownie all ready to go.
Ingredients:
2 tbsp whole wheat flour
1 1/2 tbsp honey
1 1/2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
3 tbsp plain greek yogurt
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp unsweetened almond milk

I’m a little confused about the oatmeal in the Almond Chocolate-Oatmeal Cookies. Do you measure out 1/3 cup oatmeal and then cook it, or do you measure the 1/3 cup after you’ve cooked the oatmeal?
Thanks!

Hey Becky! Sorry about not being clear– I cook 1/3 cup of oatmeal (aka cook about 1/2 cup of oats and add water and toss it int he microwave and it ends up being 1/3 cup) but you don’t have to be too exact because it tastes great either way.
Hopefully this helps!
