Amy Suto: Queen of Awkward Poses in Front of Bodies of Water
My Story
When I started this whole health shindig back in August 2011, I was sluggish and tired all the time. I ate junk food and, after I stopped playing basketball after my JV year, I stopped exercising. Back in 2010, I could barely run a fifteen minute mile and chocolate was one of my main food groups.
In August 2011, I started my Tumblr, started training for my first half marathon, decided to become a vegetarian, and began discovering new obscure vegetables every day.
This a picture of me, crossing the finish line of my first half marathon in January 2012:
Is it a semi-awful photo and did I spend ten minutes arguing with myself about whether or not to broadcast it with all of you? Yes and yes.
But I think that it shows something. It shows my exhausted but victorious self crossing the finish line of what was, back in January 2012, the craziest thing I’d ever done.
I’ve changed so much since I 2011. Now, I’m a competitive ballroom dancer, I’m running the Catalina 10k in November 2015 (yay hills!), and I spend most of my life in yoga classes or creating kickass 30 Day Youtube Workout Calendars for you guys. I also do archery and next I’m doing

I also write novels and short stories and all sorts of lovely fictional things, which you can read here on my personal blog, and I’m currently studying screenwriting at the most beautiful film school in the world, USC.
I want to keep learning more about health and fitness and sharing what I know with you guys, because you beautiful people inspire me and I blog here and on my Tumblr just for you!
I’m discovering new obscure vegetables every day. My life is finally balanced and productive, and I’m loving every second! Suffice it to say I’m healthy and happier than I’ve ever been before. I’m much better prepared for the important things in life, like impromptu foot chases and dance offs.
Basically, I’m your free personal trainer/life coach who knows what it’s like to fight through the 2AM chocolate cravings, the don’t-make-me-exercise mini-tantrums, and the I-can’t-do-this-so-instead-I’m-going-to-drown-my-sorrows-in-a-diet-Coke moments.
So this website is for you, because I understand. I’ve been where you are right now, and I want to help you find balance, happiness, and beauty.
This is about the reality of you.
Your journey begins here.
How do I start?
- Begin with my Reality Checks, which are aesthetically pleasing photos paired with advice, facts, and lame jokes about canoe slaloming. There’s one for each category: health/fitness, happiness, and beauty.
- Check out my “Most Popular Posts” which I update frequently.
- Follow me on Twitter for daily health tips!
- Send me a message through Tumblr! I want to hear about your struggles, your victories, your favorite obscure vegetable. I’m definitely accessible, guys! That’s what makes this site different. What other health blogger will geek out with you over Johnny Depp or the merits of canoe slaloming? Hmm?
What I’m Doing Now
Currently, I’m training for a race because this guy I like convinced me to run it with him #gooddecisions
I’m also keeping up with my strength and endurance training because my best friend and I are trying to pass the FBI fitness test (60 seconds of pushups are harder than you think)
Career-wise, I’ve got this TV miniseries I wrote/produced called CON that won BEST DRAMA and BEST ACTOR at the Miami Webfest!
